Sabian Mandaean Council of Australia
The Sabian Mandaean Council of Australia is the peak representative body for the Sabian Mandaean community in Australia. It exists to support a small and ancient faith community that has found safety and a new home in Australia after decades of persecution and displacement overseas.
The Council works to preserve Mandaean religious traditions, culture, and language, while also supporting the wellbeing of individuals and families. It provides a clear and accountable structure for community leadership, decision-making, and engagement with government, service providers, and the wider Australian society.
The Council brings together religious leadership and elected community representatives to ensure ethical governance, transparency, and long-term sustainability. It is committed to youth participation, social inclusion, interfaith dialogue, and contributing positively to Australia’s multicultural fabric, while operating fully in line with Australian laws and standards for community organisations
